Led by District 14C individual event champions Devin Hill and Marley Fredette, the Alberton Panthers showed well at the 14C conference track and field meet in Missoula last week, with the boys scoring 43 team points and the girls 16.

A sophomore, Hill won the 400 meter run in a personal best time of 55.69 seconds on the first day of the two-day meet Friday, adding another personal best time of 2:12.49 Saturday to claim third place in the 800 meters Saturday.

Hill also joined Dylan Woerz, Shea Fredette and David Scheer to win second in the 1600 meter relay, and Scheer, Woerz, Mahlon Mason and Matvei Valdovinos to place third in the 400 meter relay.

Scheer also placed fifth in the 300 meter hurdles and Mason ran down sixth in the 1600 meters for the Alberton boys.

A freshman, Marley Fredette placed in all three sprints, winning the 400 meters in a personal best time of 1:06.77, placing fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 100 to score all of the Panther girls’ points.

These Alberton thinclads who have qualified now make plans to return to MCPS Stadium in Missoula for the Western C divisional meet, which will be held concurrently with the Western B, Friday and Saturday.
