Jamie Cleveland, Chet Hill and Christian Fenton won individual events to pace St. Regis Tiger efforts in the District 14C meet in Missoula Friday and Saturday.
Cleveland, a senior honors student who recently announced her intention to attend Montana Tech and to compete in track and field for the Orediggers, won the long jump decisively (with a leap of 15 feet, 10 inches, over a foot farther than the second-place jump), placed second in the 100 meter dash and third in the 200.
For coach Jesse Allan’s Tiger boys, Hill, a freshman, was the 14C champion of the middle distance runs winning the 1600 meters in 5:07.36, and taking second in both the 400 and 800 to lead St. Regis.
A junior, Fenton won the 3200 meters in a personal best time of 12:20.80 in addition to placing fourth in the 1600 meters.
Senior Isaac Kelly also enjoyed a very productive meet for the Tigers, winning second in the 1600 meters, placing third in the high jump and fourth in the javelin.
Hunter Slattery won fourth place in the 100 meters and fifth in the long jump, and Demor Hostetler won fourth in the discus and fifth in the shot put to round out St. Regis boys scoring.
Brooklyn Miller placed fourth in the 100 meters and sixth in the long jump to complete scoring for the St. Regis girls in the 14C meet.
All qualifying Tigers now move on to this week’s combined Western C/Western B divisional meet, again in Missoula Friday and Saturday in hopes of then moving on to the State C meet in Laurel May 29-30.
