Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 hour, 8 minutes AGO
William “Bill” Page Scott, 94, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away surrounded by family May 3, 2026. Bill was born Aug. 24, 1931, to William and Helen Scott in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Bill graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1949 and attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., where he studied optometry. He worked summers for the Forest Service to pay his tuition. Upon graduation in 1954, Bill married Vivian Swan. He then joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. After being discharged, he joined his father’s optometry practice.
After the death of his first wife, Vivian, Bill married Meda Robert in 1984.
Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, bird hunting, snowmobiling and was an excellent skeet shooter (an Idaho Champ). He loved feeding the birds and finding ways to ward off the seed-stealing squirrels.
After retirement, Bill and Meda traveled in their fifth wheel to Oregon, California and Arizona in the winter months.
He raised five children with Vivian and, after his marriage to Meda, had four more. He was a wonderful, caring father and husband who loved to tease.
Bill is survived by his wife, Meda, and children: Mike Scott, Lisa (Rick) Wegner, Julia Scott, Eric (Lisa) Scott, Stuart (Crystal) Scott, Lisa (Chris) Cornelius, and Greg (Katie) Sandberg. Grandchildren: Wyatt, Garrett, Sierra Rogers, Lynne Cornelius, Parker Sandberg and Michael Wegner and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bettina Enneberg, and grandson Paul Cornelius.
A memorial service honoring Bill will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Garden Plaza, 545 N. Garden Plaza Court, Post Falls, Idaho.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Hospice of North Idaho for their caring support.
