Peters, a junior from Post Falls High, was a Big 12 Conference Championship medalist in the 10,000-meter run, finishing fifth in the event on May 14 in Tucson, Ariz. Peters finished in 34 minutes, 29.15 seconds and was part of the lead pack the entire race before a trio of runners broke off in the final 800 meters.
