Troy softball knocks off Ennis at Western B/C

ANACONDA — Troy pulled away late Friday for a 14-10 win over Ennis in a high-scoring Western B Divisional softball matchup.

The teams combined for 24 runs and 19 hits, with Troy (12-9) using a five-run sixth inning to create separation. 

In another first-round game, Florence shut out Thompson Falls-Noxon 10-0. 


Troy 14, Ennis 10

The Lady Trojans jumped ahead early behind a two-run triple from Ainsley Huitron and later answered after Ennis rallied for six runs in the fourth inning to briefly take the lead. 

They got RBI singles from Ellah Wallace and Kirsti Jellesed before adding insurance in the sixth. Hailey Dungan doubled home a run, Allie Borgmann added a two-run single and Halle Wallace followed with another RBI hit. 

Jellesed and Wallace each collected two hits for Troy, while Wallace also stole three bases. The win came two weeks after the Mustangs (16-6) beat the Lady Trojans twice on May 8. 

Ruby Boggus led Ennis with two hits, while Mykala Matson and Kahryn Vaudrin each drove in two runs.  

 

Florence 10, Thompson Falls-Noxon 0

The Florence Falcons (19-2) scored three runs in the first inning and never slowed down, finishing with 13 hits. 

Jaden Fisher and Lacie Larson each delivered RBI singles during the opening inning before Maggie Schneiter and Taylor Pyette added run-scoring hits in the second. 

Fisher earned the win after tossing six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. 

Nevaeh Christensen, Kylee Borgmann, Annalise Fairbank and Kaylie Mercer each recorded hits for the Blue Hawks, while Marley Robinson stole two bases.
