The Pend Oreille Arts Council is inviting the community to experience a night of gourmet dining, live entertainment and the celebration of creativity in support of POAC’s education programs.
The event? POAC’s 10th annual Art Party, “The Rhythm of Art!” Set for Friday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m., the elegant and immersive evening will benefit the nonprofit arts organization’s dual visual and performing arts missions and honor the heartbeat of the creative community.
Kick off the evening with a complimentary champagne welcome, appetizers, live music by Matt Lome and live art demonstrations by Randy Wilhelm and Bill Mather. Ivano’s will cater dinner, followed by a live auction and paddle raise led by Troy Black, with premier items including Zags basketball tickets, a day on the lake with a Beeracuda Boat Rental, a golf package and a musical escape to Nashville.
As the organization’s primary fundraising event, guests will have the opportunity to support the myriad of community programs sponsored by POAC, including pivotal educational programs: Kaleidoscope visual art instruction in local elementary schools and Ovations performing arts access for students.
POAC also offers affordable art classes for adults in the Joyce Dillon Studio, Art for Life for area seniors and Expressions for teens. POAC hosts important annual community events including ArtWalk, the Arts & Crafts Fair in downtown Sandpoint and the Artist Studio Tour.
The 48-year-old arts organization also partners to support the free Sandpoint Summer Series in Farmin Park and Shakespeare in the Park. POAC’s Gallery at 313 N. Second Ave. in Sandpoint showcases and supports local artists by displaying their artwork and hosting monthly gallery openings and shows.
“The success of this event is essential to POAC’s ability to provide Sandpoint with all the popular programs that our community has come to love and value for nearly five decades,” said POAC Executive Director Tone Stolz. “We invite you to come support the importance of the arts in all of our lives, and especially to support arts education for local kids.”
Tickets are priced at $100 per person, or $1,000 for a reserved table for eight, on sale now online at ArtinSandpoint.org, by phone 208-263-6139, or at the POAC Gallery, 313 N. Second Ave., in downtown Sandpoint.
