Two Potlatch residents die in car crash

Two people from Potlatch died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night.
According to the Idaho State Police, a 52-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman were driving a 2023 Can-Am Maverick Sport when the vehicle went off the 9000 block of Railroad Grade Road in St. Maries, went down an embankment, and into the river about 9:30 p.m.
Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene, a press release said.
The road was blocked for about 4.5 hours.
An investigation continues.
