POLSON — The Bulldogs are a force to be reckoned with on the court.

Whitefish swept all four brackets and secured nine of the possible 16 spots at the State tournament at the Northwest A divisional Saturday.

The strong showing powered the Bulldogs to both the boys and girls team titles. The boys finished with 76 points, ahead of Polson with 37 and Columbia Falls at 25.

The Whitefish girls scored 68 points to best Polson (38) and Bigfork (28)

Jack Oehlerich took the boys singles title over Polson’s Ruger Ellis, while fellow Bulldogs Owen Erickson (third) and Eli Erickson (fourth) claimed state berths.

Liesl Brust and Emy Hansen made it an all-Whitefish final in girls singles, with Brust taking the victory. Polson’s Baylee Lemm defeated Bigfork’s Grace Holtmeyer for third.

Bulldogs duo Camry Kelch and Allie Shors claimed the girls doubles title over Pirates pair Greta Lund and Hinkley Moss. Whitefish’s Lucy Marzo and Aubrey Talbot bested Bigfork’s Payton DeSpain and Gwenna Lustig for third place.

Aaron Anderson and Marcus Mercer completed the Bulldog sweep in boys doubles over fellow Whitefish pair Jake Shors and Cole Moses. Polson’s Teague McElwee and Marcus Lucas finished third over Columbia Falls duo Jackson Scholz and Blake Perry.

The top four in each bracket secured a spot at the State A tennis tournament in Hardin starting May 28.
