HAZEL: Fought the good fight

On Tuesday, the voters of Coeur d’Alene spoke — and while the outcome wasn’t what we fought for, I am deeply grateful to the 2,814 people (40%) who believed in something better: stronger representation, genuine community leadership and a more civil, honest conversation — in Boise and right here at home. That belief doesn’t end with this election. Thank you.

I want to congratulate Elaine Price on her victory and wish her success representing District 4B in Boise.

This was never an easy race to win. Taking on a two-term incumbent backed by significant outside out-of-state money meant the odds were always steep. But I believed this community was worth fighting for, and I gave this campaign everything I had.

Along the way, we built something meaningful. We gained supporters from every corner of this community who believe Coeur d’Alene deserves leadership rooted in service, respect and bringing people together rather than tearing one another apart. 

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, friend, neighbor and voter who stood with me during this campaign. I will never forget it.
