Two killed in Monday crash

SAGLE — Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred on U.S. 95 early Monday afternoon near Sagle.
Idaho State Police officials said the crash happened when an 18-year-old male from Sandpoint was southbound on in the 469000 block of U.S. 95 in a red 2011 Buick LaCrosse when it crossed the centerline and struck a white 2021 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup head-on.
The driver of the Buick and his passenger, a 48-year-old male from Sandpoint, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The Dodge Ram was driven by a 65-year-old male from Sandpoint. The occupants of the pickup truck were transported to a local hospital, one by ground ambulance and one by air ambulance.
All occupants in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
The highway was intermittently blocked for approximately three hours.
Next of kin have not yet been notified. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
