Libby council OKs street closures for Ignite the Nites

The Ignite the Nites 2026 car show will be held the third weekend in August.
Libby City councilors approved a request May 4 from the Igniters Car Club to close Mineral Avenue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 and 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
Friday’s closures include Eighth Street to First Street (including the cul -de-sac) as well as Lincoln Boulevard from Mineral Avenue to Montana Avenue.
Saturday’s closure includes Mineral Avenue from Eighth Street to First Street (including the cul -de-sac).
Council also approved a permit for some vehicles that may violate the city noise ordinance from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, during the cruise on Mineral Avenue.
The event begins Thursday, Aug. 13 with a High Stakes Poker Run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The payout is 100%.
Registration and start is at the Mint Bar located at 110 Mineral Avenue and the finish is at Po’ Sam’s at 119 Mineral Avenue.
Saturday’s schedule includes car show registration from 8 a.m. to noon at the Igniters registration table on Mineral Avenue. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The 1950s Pin-Up Girl costume contest begins at 1 p.m. Registration is at the DJ’s booth near Red, White and Brews at 411 Mineral Avenue.
The awards ceremony and pedal car drawing is at 3 p.m.
The event moves to Millpond Motocross Park for the Ron Remp Memorial Burnout Contest at 5 p.m. Saturday. The park entrance is via Fishpond Road on U.S. 2 south across from Saverite South Service Station.
Saturday’s closing ceremony and live music begins on Mineral Avenue immediately following the burnout contest.
