I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. ALL-LEAGUE: Heather Stumm
A junior catcher, Heather recorded a .333 batting average (9-for-27) and .591 on-base percentage that included a double, a triple, 10 runs scored, eight RBIs, and 17 walks across 15 games played... had a tied for season-high two hits in three different contests... a season-high three runs scored against a non-varsity opponent on April 24... a tied for season-high two RBIs in three different contests... posted a .978 fielding percentage that included 44 putouts.
ALL-LEAGUE: Toni Marinello
A senior pitcher and third baseman, Toni recorded 25 strikeouts across 41.1 innings of work in the circle this season... pitched a tied for season-high six innings against Grangeville on March 28 and against St. Maries on April 28... recorded a tied for season-high six strikeouts against Grangeville on March 28 and against Kellogg on April 17... at the plate, scored 12 runs in 42 plate appearances... held a .476 on-base percentage that included 16 walks... posted a .792 fielding percentage that included 19 putouts.
ALL-LEAGUE: Rylee Dixon
A junior first baseman, Rylee recorded a .250 batting average (8-for-32) and .455 on-base percentage that included two doubles, 11 runs scored, seven RBIs, and 10 walks across 16 games played... had a tied for season-high two hits against Bonners Ferry on March 19 and against Newport on April 7... a tied for season-high two runs scored against Riverside on April 7 and against St. Maries on April 28... a season-high three RBIs against Newport on April 7... posted a .895 fielding percentage that included 15 putouts, two assists, and a double play.
