ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Maverick Gomez, Sandpoint Track & Field

This week's Athlete of the Week is Maverick Gomez of Sandpoint Track & Field.

A senior, Maverick came home with four medals after competing at the 5A State Track & Field Championships earlier this month. The standout speedster won the 100-meter dash with a school record time of 10.55 seconds, was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.61 seconds, and was a part of both the silver-medal 4x200 relay (1:27.73) and the gold-medal 4x100 relay (41.47), which broke a school and state classification record with their performance.
