Observations from a Bigfork resident

Questions and observations from a 25-year Bigfork resident.
We pay a special tax levy for the green box site at Montana 83 and Montana 35 that is so full of large, deep potholes that it has become dangerous to both vehicles and drivers. We endured these conditions all winter and now, when we ask the county when they will be filled, we're told they can't find the manpower to make the repairs. The attendants (who are very positive and helpful) can't do anything about it. We need the driving surface properly maintained now.
Why do fish and game wardens keep their vehicles engines running when sitting in their vehicles. I'm told that is their policy to ensure a quick pursuit. With today's price of fuel and vehicle's quick starting ability, it seems like a complete waste of money. Maybe the policy was implemented when vehicles were hand cranked to start. The police and fire departments have figured it out. Seems like Fish, Wildlife and Parks should update its policy.
The Sportsman Bridge construction on Montana 82 has made the intersection miserable. When the construction crew puts up their temporary traffic light there is some relief. We need a full stop light to assist left hand turns and an extended right hand turn lane off of Montana 82 to alleviate this continuing problem. Traffic will only get worse as Bigfork continues to grow.
Bigfork is a great place to live. However, both residents and government need to work together to maintain and improve our lifestyle and environment.
