The Columbia Falls City Council May 18 approved annexing a 4.59 acre parcel of land near the intersection of Best Way Drive and Meadow Lake Boulevard for a facility that makes nutritional supplements.

The annexation was requested by Chichester Legacy Properties of Kalispell. Montana Global Health plans on making dietary supplements at the facility once its built.

It’s considered a “dry” facility as no water is used on the machines or in the clean rooms. Water is only used to wash parts, floors, hands and laundry.

According to its website, the company makes capsules, powders and liquid supplements for both humans and pets.

The Columbia Falls facility would be about 46,000 square feet. The property is located south of the green box site and is already in a light industrial and heavy industrial area, with the Weyerhaeuser plant to the east.

The property would be zoned light industrial, which is what it was previously zoned by the county.

The vote to approve the annexation was unanimous.
