West wins javelin at state

The Columbia Falls track teams competed at the Western A Divisional meet last week in Frenchtown with the girls taking sixth and the boys taking third. They head to the state meet in Laurel this Friday and Saturday to wrap up the season.
Top performance for the boys was Joe West, who won the javelin with a throw of 168 even.
Jett Brandeberry was third in the 100 meters; Aiyers Powell was fourth in the 1,600 meters and second in the 3,200 with a time of 10:11.3.
Miles Colliander took third in the 110 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles. The Wildcats were fourth in the 400 relay and second in the 1600 relay.
Dyan Owens took second in the high jump with a 6 foot leap. Tristian Archuletta tied for second in the pole vault.
Easton Brooks took fifth in the long jump and second in the triple jump with a 42-4.
On the girls’ side, Peyton Ross was sixth in the 400. Ashley Andrews and Mila Johns took fourth and fifth respectively in the 800 meters; Johns was fifth in the 1,600 as well.
Findley Dezzani took fourth in the 3,200.
Hazel Matson and Aubrey Smith were fourth and fifth in the 100 hurdles respectively. Rachell Ruther was fourth in the shot put. Ross tied for second in the high jump and Soli Bullemer was second in the pole vault.
Ross also took sixth in the long jump.
Bullemer was fourth in the triple jump and Maddy Barker was sixth.
