Hazel 'Toots' Nelson, 97

Hazel or “Toots” as she preferred to be called, was born April 6, 1929, in Conrad to Joseph and Dora (Kober) Moritz.

She enjoyed playing the piano for dance events or at different establishments. After the war she married Bob Violett. They ran a small sawmill on the family land in Patrick Creek outside of Kalispell. Bob was preceded by Hazel in death and in 1989 she married George W. Nelson. The two were active Jehovah’s Witnesses. George preceded Toots in death in 1999. 

Hazel “Toots” passed away May 20, 2026, at Logan Hospital, Kalispell. Services are pending.
