Severe weather warning issued for today

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning across the Inland Northwest for this afternoon and evening.
The region could see isolated heavy rain, wind gusts up to 60 mph, frequent lightning and up to 1 inch size hail, according to the NWS. Kootenai, Bonner, Boundary, Benewah and Shoshone counties are among those expected to be impacted.
The thunderstorms are expected to arrive following an extraordinarily warm day, when temperatures are expected to reach the 90s in North Idaho.
The NWS is also predicting continued heavy rain throughout the region heading into Friday and Saturday.
