Slow down on county's gravel roads

Speeding on our gravel roads is a serious problem for all. When drivers travel too fast, they create large clouds of dust that create unnecessary health and safety concerns.

The lingering dust makes it harder to breathe, especially for children, seniors, and those with respiratory issues. It also reduces visibility for other drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, increasing the risk of accidents.

It also creates wash-boarding which can over time result in strut issues. In addition, the dust coats homes, vehicles, and outdoor spaces, making it difficult for adjacent residents to enjoy their property.

The solution is simple: slow down. Driving responsibly helps reduce dust, protects road conditions, and shows respect for the people who live nearby.

It takes 43 seconds more to drive 1 mile at 25 mph than at 35 mph.

I urge drivers to be more mindful. A little consideration can make a big difference for everyone.
