With the installation of 5,000 feet of new steel water mains and four new modern hydrants in the business district, Bonners Ferry will have the best fire protection of any city in the northwest.
The largest class graduation took place on last Thursday when 25 students were given their diplomas. Dr. Upham, President of the University of Idaho was the speaker. He urged the class not to be satisfied with mediocrity.

The contract for the construction of an eight classroom addition at Valley View went to a local firm, Brant Construction.
The Boundary County Commissioners were informed this week that various gravel pits around the county are in violation of the county zoning requirements and the users will have to apply for conditional use permits.
Bill Hayden, teacher and coach at BFHS, this week has been notified that for the second year in a row he has been named "Idaho A-2 Track Coach of the Year".

Panhandle State Bank partnered with Megan Brown and the Valley View PTO with a Krispy Kreme fundraiser as part of their Community Match Program. PSB matched $2,000 and the monies will be used to assist in funding field trips for grades first through fifth.
