David Dean Dofelmire, 70

David Dean Dofelmire, 70, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away peacefully May 14, 2026, at Kootenai Health with his wife and family by his side. David was born Nov. 11, 1955,  in San Gabriel, Calif., a son of the late Donald and Evelyn (Parry) Dofelmire. 

David was a Kellogg High School graduate, Class of 1974. Right after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1977. He married his loving bride, Bonnie Bland, on June 16, 1990, and together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.

David loved spending quality time with his family and enjoyed cooking and having family dinners. He enjoyed having community barbecues at the RV park where he and Bonnie reside, especially the Fourth of July event that he planned for his friends and family. David enjoyed spending time at the RV park, visiting with other guests and making lifelong friendships. For many years before retirement, David enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator. Before his health no longer allowed it, he enjoyed fishing and camping.

David loved the Kingston Baptist Church that he and Bonnie attended. It meant so much to him to have that extended family. He also enjoyed attending Bible study and the monthly fellowship lunches after church. David felt so blessed to have been baptized in this church. 

David will be remembered as a true gentleman who had a deep care for the people in his life. He had a huge heart and was always there to help anyone, anytime. He will also be remembered for his fun-loving, kind spirit. He loved joking and making everyone laugh.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by a brother, Don Dofelmire. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Bonnie Dofelmire of Pinehurst, Idaho; his step-children, Karey (Willie) Eddy of Osburn, Idaho, Jacie (Joey) deYoung of Kingston, Idaho, and Bill (Keri) Arthur of Post Falls, Idaho; and his sons Chris Dofelmire and David Dofelmire of California; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of David’s life will be held at the Kingston Baptist Church, Kingston, Idaho, on June 13, 2026, at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.
