Jeanne L. Amersfoort, 79, of Pinehurst, Idaho, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 17, 2026, at Mountain Valley of Cascadia Health and Rehabilitation, Kellogg, Idaho. Jeanne was born Nov. 28, 1946, in Boise, Idaho, a daughter of the late George and Virginia (Humphrey) Rivers.
Jeanne graduated from Kellogg High School, Class of 1964. On May 5, 1979, she married Ernest Amersfoort in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Jeanne was a medical records clerk and a paraprofessional at Pinehurst Elementary School, a job she greatly loved.
Jeanne was a pastor and preached God’s word with passion and sincerity. Her love of Jesus and his teachings inspired many to follow Him. Jeanne always befriended those who needed some extra help in life. As an excellent cook and baker, Jeanne was always making something in her kitchen, especially her bread and cinnamon rolls. She was also a published author, having published five novels.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Amersfoort, of Pinehurst, Idaho; her four children, Tyrone (Jackie) Amersfoort of Pinehurst, Idaho, Karla Gunby of Spokane Valley, Wash., Denise (Mike) Katusich of Fort Bragg, Calif., and Ramona Byram (Thomas Bottoms) of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren, Bradly Amersfoort, Elijah Ross, Lillian Lindsay, Jordon Moore, Reagan Byram and Payton Bottoms; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gloria Rivers of Pinehurst, Idaho, and Jayne (Toby) Robson of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
