Sowing time and energy for a bountiful harvest

Every sunrise deposits 86,400 fresh seconds and a limited measure of strength into our hands.
These are sacred seeds from God. How we invest them determines the size of the harvest in our families, work, and eternal legacy.
In God’s kingdom, there are no shortcuts, only steady Spirit-empowered diligence. Poor stewardship breeds hurry, anxiety, and overwhelm. Wise investment yields rest, peace, and multiplied fruit.
Scripture urges us to number our days (Psalm 90:12), redeem the time (Ephesians 5:15-16), and work while it is day (John 9:4). God models this with the Sabbath: six days of work, one of rest. This isn’t legalism but a gift for renewal. Jesus said the Sabbath was made for us. Hebrews 4:11 calls us to “be diligent to enter that rest.”
The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) illustrates this powerfully. A master entrusts servants with talents according to ability. Two invest diligently and double their portion, hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your lord.” The fearful servant buries his talent and loses even what he had. God multiplies what we faithfully sow.
Nehemiah’s story echoes the same truth. Facing threats and exhaustion, he and the people rebuilt Jerusalem’s wall in just 52 days. Their diligence turned the impossible into undeniable proof that “this work was done by our God” (Nehemiah 6:16).
Galatians 6:9 reminds us: “Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Colossians 3:23 adds, “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord.”
Diligence appears in quiet morning prayer, extra effort at work, patient love in marriage and parenting, and faithful service even when tired. Small, consistent seeds produce exponential fruit.
This week, ask yourself: Where is God inviting me to invest my time and energy more faithfully? Refuse fear. Fight for Sabbath rest. Keep sowing. The Master is watching, and the harvest is coming.
Let’s give our very best for the One who multiplies every faithful seed. The results will surpass what we can imagine.
