BILLINGS — Clara Labbe drove in three runs and Manhattan used a seven-run fifth inning to take an 11-1 victory over Troy in the opening round of the State B softball tournament at Stewart Park.

Labbe opened the scoring for Manhattan (19-7) with an RBI single in the second. Later in the frame with the bases loaded, Lina Christiansen hit a three-run double to make it 4-0.

Allie Borgman made it 4-1 in the fourth with an RBI single to right for Troy (14-11).

The Tigers found another rhythm at the plate in the fifth as Averie Matheson drove in a run on a double. Manhattan then took advantage of a walk, a hit batter and two errors to secure the run rule victory.

Christianson threw four innings, allowing one run on four hits and struck out five.

Halle Wallace also tossed four innings, allowing eight runs on six hits.

The Lady Trojans then fell to Glasgow 8-1 in a loser-out game late Thursday.
