LEGION BASEBALL: 11-run first sparks Prairie in tourney opener

SPOKANE — Bryce Berger hit a three-run triple and Grady Stinson added a three-run double in an 11-run first inning for the Prairie Cardinals, who beat River City Green 12-0 in three innings in their first game of the Whitworth Prospect Series at Whitworth University on Friday. 

Alec Finn had two hits and drove in two runs for Prairie (3-0), which plays OBC 19U at 1 p.m. and the Spokane Rawlings Tigers 18U at 6 p.m., both at Spokane Falls Community College.
