HARDIN — Jack Oehlerich finally got over the last hill.

The Whitefish senior defeated Hardin’s Wesley Walks 6-2, 6-2 to win the Class A boys state championship as the Bulldogs brought home three individual titles and both team championships.

Oehlerich was pushed to a third set in his semifinal against Jack Robertson of Dillon, winning in a tiebreaker.

Joining Oehlerich as champions were the duo of Aaron Anderson and Marcus Mercer, who defeated William Noteboom and Adrian Taganahan in three sets for the boys doubles crown.

Camry Kelch and Allie Shors finished their run to the girls doubles championship with a straight sets win over Polson’s Greta Lund and Hinkley Moss. Kelch and Shors did not drop a set all tournament.

The Whitefish girls finished with 30 points to win the championship over Miles City (19) and Hamilton (16).

The Bulldogs boys won with 37 points, ahead of Hardin’s 26.

Polson’s boys finished third at 11 points.

Hamilton’s Clara Hanley rounded out the state champions Saturday winning the girls singles title over Miles City’s Ramsey Pryor.

Liesl Brust and Owen Erickson also brought home podium finishes for the Bulldogs in third. Polson’s Ruger Ellis finished fourth in the boys singles competition.
