James Raymond Reardon III, 75, passed away quietly with his family by his side on Oct. 23, 2026. He suffered a brief, brave and heroic struggle with advanced pancreatic cancer. His wife, son and sister provided care and comfort in his last days at home in Kalispell.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Mary and James Reardon II.
Jim is survived by his wife Carol and her girls Nicole, Angela and granddaughter lone; first wife Rhonda and their children Shawn and Angie, and their granddaughter Jordan; his sister Bonnie (Dennis); niece Juliane (Michael); nephews Tom (Aubrie) and Jeff (Tasha); great nieces Jess, AnaSophia, Bridget and Clara; and many more friends and relatives all so very important to him.
Jim was born in Helena, attended grade school in Anaconda and high school in Napa, California. He studied geology at the University of Montana in Missoula. He later ventured into business to utilize his talents and love for woodworking and custom cabinetry.
Jim's family moved to Flathead Valley, where he continued to pursue the same work for 35 plus years retiring in 2016. He was especially proud of projects and designs produced during this career.
Jim was an avid fly fisher and an established musician (piano and guitar). He loved music, was a lover of science, and especially well read in Anaconda and Montana history. There was always a new book on his nightstand. He was a very "deep thinker," which he would admit. He enjoyed his home, fine wood and furniture, and his yard and garden (well-tended daily in his later years). Family dinners with fine wine, family vacations, the outdoors, and reunions were favorites. He loved the years he and Shawn spent on the water with his speed boat and tubing. He had many friends that he stayed connected with all his life. We will miss his quick wit, humility, caring and love he showed to each of us.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 5, at St. Mathew's Catholic Church in Kalispell. A reception will follow at the church.
Donations suggested in his memory can be made to the Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy or charity of your choosing. His family wants to thank the palliative care team at Logan Health, St. Mathew's Catholic Church, and friends and family for their care and support.
