Calvin Decker, 89, born May 9, 1937, in Glasgow, was the son of Henry Decker and Flora Pierce. He made his home in Columbia Falls.
Calvin attended school in Ronan, through the ninth grade before proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he worked as a log truck driver and spent time working on oil rigs in eastern Montana. One of his notable accomplishments was serving as a truck pusher on the oil rigs, a role that reflected his years of experience and dedication to his work.
Outside of work, Calvin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and spending time outdoors. His favorite activities included hunting, fishing, camping, and collecting guns. Family was especially important to him, and he cherished opportunities to make memories with those closest to him.
Some of Calvin’s fondest memories were made taking his family paddle fishing at Intake in Glendive. He also loved watching his children participate in rodeo events, including bull riding, bareback riding, team roping, and breakaway roping. Hunting trips on the east side of Montana were another favorite pastime. Whether enjoying the outdoors or sitting outside visiting with family and friends, Calvin treasured the time spent together.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Decker and Flora Pierce, as well as Ginger and Ted Kiltie, Laurie Decker, Ricky Decker, Rocky Decker, Jean Reed, and Cindy Decker.

Calvin will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love of the outdoors, his enjoyment of hunting and fishing, and, most importantly, the memories he created with his family and friends. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the generations of family who will continue to cherish his memory.
Services will be held at a later date. Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for the family.
