Delmer Bruce English

Delmer Bruce English, born in 1942, passed away Oct. 21, 2026, in Moses Lake, Washington, at the age of 84.
With the eyes of an eagle and a quiet strength, Delmer Bruce English could find what most would miss: a clue at a crime scene, a fish beneath still water and the woman who would become the love of his life.
He spent his life protecting others. As an Army aircraft crew chief in Vietnam, he faced enemy fire. As a police detective, he earned the nickname “Eagle Eye,” becoming a legend still remembered at the Bremerton Police Department today. But his greatest devotion was always to his family.
His grandest adventure began at the Snow White Drive-In, where his best friend introduced him to Linda, a woman whose beauty rivaled Snow White’s. They married soon after, beginning a lifetime together that brought three sons, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
As a father and grandfather, Del taught by example. Patient, kind, and endlessly curious, he seemed to know something about everything and delighted in sharing that knowledge. Built on a foundation of hard work and Linda’s constant encouragement, he started with very little and rose to become a successful entrepreneur, owning rental properties and car washes.
Retirement brought motor home adventures across North America, a family cabin he built from trees he logged himself, and treasured fishing trips with his sons, sharing the waters he loved with the people he loved most.
The eyes that noticed everything are now at rest, but the love, wisdom, and memories Del leaves behind live on in the family he cherished and the lives he helped shape.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
