Arlene F. Nickerson-Loudin, 89
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 46 minutes AGO
On Oct. 20, 2026, Arlene passed away peacefully with family by her side in her home in Coeur d ‘Alene, Idaho.
She spent her younger years in Hannah, N.D., where she was born. Here she met Al Nickerson, married him and started a family. They moved West, eventually settling in Post Falls, Idaho, in the early '70s.
Arlene enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her four children: Ken Nickerson (Susan), Sue Harms (Gary), Sandy Foster (Jay), and Shelly Brown (Mark). She also liked gardening, horses and camping with a cold red beer.
Arlene and Al separated in 1981. Later, she met Tom Loudin. Together, they traveled, enjoyed Lions Club campouts, four-wheeler rides and horseback riding. After Tom passed away in 2019, Arlene spent her final years with her beloved dog, Maggie, and shopping with her girls — garage sales and thrift stores were her favorites.
Arlene is survived by her siblings, Doug, Darcy, and Darla; her aforementioned children; several grandchildren; and a few great-grandchildren. She is remembered for her strong, resilient, hardworking demeanor.
She will be dearly missed, but we are consoled knowing that she is with our Heavenly Father.
Please join us for a celebration of life for her on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hayden Lake Eagles, 1520 W. Wyoming Ave. Hayden, ID 83835.
