The Kalispell Compline Choir invites the community to Nightcap for the Soul, a free monthly offering of sacred music, prayer, and meditative readings.

The choir presents the service on the second Sunday of each month at Christ Church Episcopal. The next gathering is Sunday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m.

This 45-minute retreat offers peaceful plainsong, Medieval and Renaissance a cappella music, reflective readings, and simple prayer. People of all faith traditions who seek a moment of peace and contemplation are welcome. Guests may enter the candlelit sanctuary, set aside the distractions of daily life, and receive the music and readings as a gift.

This month's program features texts in Elvish, Latin, and English and spans centuries of musical tradition, from the Renaissance works of Tallis, Palestrina, and Campion to selected compositions of the late twentieth century. November's repertoire includes two celebrated motets: Albert de Klerk's Pater Noster (Our Father) and Sicut Cervus ("As the deer longs for the fountain," Psalm 42).

The choir offers Nightcap for the Soul on the second Sunday of every month at Christ Church Episcopal, 215 Third Ave. E., Kalispell. Admission is free. For more information, contact Craig Hodges at [email protected].
