A 44-year-old woman is facing a burglary charge after allegedly breaking into an interior design business in Kalispell in July.

Lacey Lynn Nicolson, who remains in the county jail with bail set at $50,000, pleaded not guilty before Judge Heidi Ulbricht in Flathead County District Court on Oct. 29. A pretrial conference in the case is set for Jan. 6 with a status hearing to follow on Feb. 19.

Nicolson allegedly burglarized a Second Street East business on July 22. The break-in came to light after employees noticed missing merchandise and reviewed surveillance footage. Cameras caught a woman using the alley entrance to gain entry, according to court documents.

The items that went missing included a duvet set, necklace, two sets of hoops and a ring. Investigators with the Kalispell Police Department estimated the value of the stolen goods at $552, court documents said.

Reviewing the footage of the break-in, an officer who had worked on prior theft cases involving Nicolson identified her as the burglar, according to court documents.

During an alleged theft at a big box retailer nine days earlier, Nicolson was wearing the same pink rubber shoes, court documents said.

Burglary is punishable by up to 20 years behind bars and a $50,000 fine.
