NO. 32437 PUBLIC NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF DRAFT AIR QUALITY OPERATING PERMIT   Requisition Number: AQ27-047   1. On October 27, 2025, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) received an application for an Air Quality Operating Permit from Weyerhaeuser NR Company- Columbia Falls MDF Plant. The application was given number OP2667-07. The permittee’s address is 105 Mills Drive. The facility location is Columbia Falls, Mt. 2. The Draft permit will be issued to the applicant on November 6, 2026 (ARM Title 17, Chapter 8, Subchapter 12). 3. The permit will allow for the operation of the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) Facility which includes the following processes: Debarking, chipping, refining, drying, blending, forming, pressing, trimming, cooling and sanding operations. 4. Public comments regarding this permit action must be submitted to DEQ - Air Quality Bureau, P.O. Box 200901, Helena, Montana 59620-0901 or [email protected]. Comments may address the Draft permit or information submitted by the applicant. Comments must be received within the 30-day public comment period: November 06, 2026 through December 07, 2026 5. The Draft permit can be found on-line at https://deq.mt.gov/public/publiccomment, select AIR. You may request copies of the application and any subsequent permit at https://deq.mt.gov (at the bottom of this page, select Request Public Records). 6. You may request a public hearing by submitting a request to DEQ at the above address or email. The request must be received within the 30-day public comment period. 7. DEQ intends to issue the Proposed permit after the comment period has expired and after any requested public hearing. After the 45-day EPA review period, DEQ intends to issue a Decision on the permit. The permit does not become final and effective until 30 days after the Decision is issued. 8. An applicant or any person that participated in the public comment process and who is directly and adversely affected by DEQ’s Decision may request a hearing before the Montana Board of Environmental Review. Any request must be filed within 30 days after DEQ issues the Decision. The request must contain an affidavit setting forth the grounds for the re-quest and be submitted to: Chairman, Board of Environmental Review, P.O.
