Washington Trust Bank branches across Washington and Idaho are hosting donation drives to collect cold-weather accessories for neighbors in need through Nov. 20.
Community members can drop off new or like-new winter gear in collection bins at the Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, and Post Falls branches,
Highest-need items include hats, scarves, gloves or mittens, socks, hand warmers, neck gaiters, snow pants, boots, thermal clothing, and vests.
Partners Inland Northwest, a local nonprofit operating in Spokane County and North Idaho, will distribute the donated accessories. Donations can be placed in bins marked with the Partners INW logo during branch lobby hours.
“We know that many of our community members in the Inland Northwest are experiencing hardship right now, and cold weather can represent an additional challenge for people whose resources are already stretched to the limit,” said Stefanie Sproule, senior events and communications specialist. “We’re proud to team up with Partners INW to provide practical support to our neighbors facing difficult circumstances.”
Partners INW connects individuals and families with essential resources during times of hardship. In addition to clothing, the organization also provides access to food, diapers, and emergency assistance.
