Jorden Tyler, Bellevue University Wrestling
In Bellevue University's first men's wrestling competition, the Sandpoint High grad polished off a fourth-place finish last weekend at the Falcon Open. After Tyler fell in his opening match, he rebounded with five consecutive consolation victories by fall.
The North Idaho College transfer began his hot streak with a pin of Missouri Baptist's Connor Poole before cruising past Bryant Jones, Ethan Jane, Kaleb Bereza and Samuel Alvarez. Tyler lost in the third-place match to Samuel Butcher and claimed fourth place at the meet. The next meet for Bellevue is the Grand View Open on Saturday, Nov. 14
Matyus McLain, Washington State Football
The pride of Priest River Lamanna High has been a staple of one of the best defenses in the Pac-12 Conference this season. McLain's best game as a Cougar came in Week 4 against Arizona, where he made eight tackles and a half sack. He has totaled 32 tackles, one sack and seven tackles for loss through nine games.
Those seven tackles for loss are tied for a team-high, and McLain has yet to have a game where he has not recorded a tackle. Washington State sits at a 1-8 overall record and will play host to Colorado State next week after a bye this week.
Aubree Lane, Lewis and Clark Volleyball
The Lewis and Clark junior has become a key piece of the Warriors' offense throughout 2026. The Sandpoint High grad has totaled 113 kills across 24 games, including three double-digit kill games.
Lane has yet to top her season-opening performance of 15 kills against Williams Baptist but has totaled 14 kills against Corban on Oct. 3 and 10 against Southern Oregon, fittingly on Oct. 10. Lewis and Clark will polish off their regular season on Saturday against Eastern Oregon before they head to the Cascade Conference Tournament.
Jerzie Bair, Bushnell University Volleyball
A senior hailing from Bonners Ferry has come on strong for the Beacons' offense late in the season. Bair totaled a season-high 11 kills and nine blocks against Northwest on Oct. 23 to bring her total up to 108 kills and 60 blocks this season.
Bushnell sits at 17-8 and will close out their 2026 season against the No. 21 Southern Oregon University on Saturday and will play in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament next week.
Liliana Brinkmeier, University of Colorado - Colorado Springs Soccer
Through her five starts at goalkeeper for the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, the Sandpoint High grad has been as stout as they come. Brinkmeier has posted four clean sheets in a row after conceding just one goal in her first start against St. Edward's.
Her best performance came on Oct. 15 against New Mexico Highlands, where the Mountain Lions won 7-0. Brinkmeier faced 10 shots and made eight saves while holding the Cowboys scoreless. UCCS sits at 14-4-2 and will look forward to the NCAA Division II Tournament next week.
Emma Thielbahr, University of Colorado Soccer
The Sandpoint native has started all 19 games for the Colorado Buffaloes women's soccer team in 2026. The star defender has been an elite part of a unit that has only allowed 14 goals this season, which has helped them get to a 14-4-1 overall record.
Thielbahr has scored three goals and notched two assists on the season. After scoring her first goal as a Buff against New Mexico on Sept. 3, Thielbahr has scored twice against Big 12 competition, Texas Tech on Sept. 27 and Kansas State on Oct. 16. Colorado has wrapped up their season and will look forward to the Big 12 Conference Tournament next week.
