MOSES LAKE — One person sustained minor injuries when a mobile home was destroyed by fire in Cascade Valley early Sunday morning.

A dog was killed in the fire, which was reported at about 4 a.m. in the 3000 block of Road H, according to a media release from the Moses Lake Fire Department.

"Crews arrived to find mobile home fully involved in fire, with flames impinging on a nearby storage shed. Because of the extent of the fire, it was immediately declared a defensive operation," the MLFD release said. "Firefighters controlled the fire from the exterior and kept it from spreading to surrounding exposures."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The mobile home was a total loss.

"The Moses Lake Fire Department reminds residents to make sure fire alarms are working and to practice a home escape plan," the release said.
