Mountain West opens new headquarters on Northwest Boulevard

COEUR D’ALENE — As Scott Anderson walks through Mountain West Bank's newly-renovated headquarters in Coeur d'Alene, he likes what he sees.

"It's beyond my expectations," the president and chief executive officer of Mountain West Bank said Friday.

Mountain West Bank is opening the doors to its newest branch at 608 Northwest Boulevard, marking a significant investment in its employees, customers, and hometown of Coeur d’Alene, a press release said.

The four-story, 44,000-square-foot building brings about 125 employees together in one location near downtown Coeur d’Alene. 

“Mountain West Bank started in Coeur d’Alene in 1993, and this is where we intend to stay,” said Scott Anderson, president and chief executive officer of Mountain West Bank. “This building brings our people together, creates another welcoming place to serve our customers, and keeps our headquarters in the heart of the community that built this bank.” 

The new headquarters unites teams that previously worked across two buildings and several suites on Ironwood Drive. 

Commercial banking, mortgage, treasury management, operations and other departments will now work together under one roof.

The bank’s Ironwood Drive branch will remain open and continue to serve customers as an important part of the bank’s local branch network.  

The move also gives new purpose to a building many area residents recognize as the former Coeur d’Alene home of The Spokesman Review. Mountain West Bank purchased the property in 2024 and completed the renovation over 14 months. 

Architects West designed the project, and Young Construction led construction. Local firms, partners, and tradespeople contributed to the renovation. 

The building will also feature work by Idaho artists and photographers. 

“This building reflects the talent and care of the people who helped create it,” Anderson said. “We are grateful to our local partners, and we are excited to welcome our customers, friends, and neighbors into a space that represents both our history in Coeur d’Alene and our confidence in its future.”
