A graph showing car ownership shows that in 1901 there was one automobile for every 9,500 people in the U.S. In 1916 it was one car for every 33 people and today is 1 car for every 6 people.
The Idaho delegation to the American Legion Convention in Philadelphia requested that A.J. Kent send "the largest potato you can get". Mr. Kent found it at the Herald office- not the biggest but the best. It was grown on the Worley place on the Northside.
During the past season, one farmer planted 19 acres of valley bottom land to seed peas. This fall he harvested over 25 tons.

A Spokane woman and her five year old son were rescued from a rocky ledge overlooking the Moyie River Sept. 22 by a deputy with his arm in a cast. Wes Ipsen lowered himself to the ledge and took them, one at a time, down an additional 200 ft. to safety.
Two young men, Karry Farrar and Jim Bolding, have developed a new machine that will provide much saving of labor to railroad tie crews.
The BFHS gals Volleyball teams proved with a win over Sandpoint on Sept. 21 that they intend to remain a powerhouse of volleyball strength again this year.
