Farmer wins Whitefish Invite; Watson third for Logger boys

Libby’s stalwart runners Capri Farmer and Cody Watson led a strong performance for the Loggers cross country team Tuesday at the Whitefish Invitational .
Farmer, a junior, won the girls race in 18:46.3 and led the Loggers to a second-place finish.
Glacier won with 38 points while Libby was next at 63, just ahead of Whitefish at 67.
Kayleigh Desch, Hailey Misner and Alli Clemons finished 10th, 11th and 13th for the Loggers, and Misner ran a personal best time in 21:32.6. Desch, an eighth-grader, finished in 21:26.8 while Clemons' time was 21:54. Freshman Ellory Anderson was 36th for Libby while Lilian Bailey also had a personal best, placing 37th.
Eureka was seventh with 207 points.
In the boys race, Watson was third overall for the Loggers, which also finished third as a team behind Class AA schools Glacier and Flathead. Watson's time was 16:36.8. Two other Logger runners made the top 15. Cody Katzer was 13th in 18:29.6 while freshman Micah Peterson was 15th in 18:32.3.
Placing 22nd, Jake Rusdal's 2026 finish was 25 seconds faster than last year while Cody Katzer improved by 38 seconds from a year ago. Brother Waylon Katzer, an eighth-grader, was 43rd in 20:31.3. Senior Eaddon Baca improved his 2025 time by nearly four minutes.
For Eureka, Aiden Hartman had a PR of 18:25.6 to take 11th.
