JoEllen Reynalds, 87, died Sept. 30, 2026, surrounded by her family. Her incredible suffering is over. She was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Terre Haute, Ind. She graduated from Whiting High School.

JoEllen enjoyed her many activities and was a Golden Star (50-year member) in the Order of the Eastern Star. She reached her expectation of becoming Worthy Grand Matron for the State of Idaho. Also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and served as District 1 President for the State of Idaho. JoEllen was also an active member of the Hayden Lake Eagles.

Recently, she worked at the Lake City Senior Center and took great pleasure in meeting all the new friends.

JoEllen leaves behind her husband, Chuck, of 64 years; her children: Catherine A. Butt of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Steven C. Reynalds of Spokane Valley, Wash.; three granddaughters; Carla Jo of Missoula, Mont.; Jennifer Switzer of Elko, Nev.; Crystal Knight of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and two great-grandchildren.

As we close this chapter of our lives, I am incredibly thankful that JoEllen shared her life with me. I'm also grateful for the awesome family and friends who have supported me through this difficult time.

A celebration of JoEllen's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at the Scottish Rite, 8999 N. Strahorn Road, Hayden Lake, ID 83835.
