Whitefish Lake Institute hosts Science Quencher Oct. 9

Local voices of science and conservation will speak on northwest Montana’s wildlife and environment at Whitefish Lake Institute’s Science Quencher on Oct. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Ramsey Room at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. This event is free and open to the public.
The Science Quencher is a fun local gathering that explores intriguing topics; the presenters are passionate about their work and love sharing with the audience. Complimentary appetizers served from 5 pm to 5:30 p.m. will be followed by four 10-15 minute “lightning round” talks with question / discussion periods after each segment. Come learn something new and join the conversation.
Dr. Max Glines of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies will share research on lake water quality and quantity resilience, Sam Bourret of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will speak to illegal fish introductions in Montana, Jess Garby of the Flathead Audubon Society will present on the Jewel Basin Hawk Watch program, and Tanner Clegg of the National Wildlife Federation will offer insights from working with beavers to unlock habitat gains.
Founded in 2005, the Whitefish Lake Institute is a 501 (3)(c) non-profit organization committed to science, education, and aquatic resource initiatives to protect and improve Whitefish Lake and Whitefish area water resources today, while providing a collective vision for tomorrow.
