MISSOULA — Sentinel did something no team has done to Glacier since November 2025: score a touchdown.
But it was the Wolfpack getting the last laugh as Glacier rolled to a 42-10 victory over the Spartans at MCPS Stadium Thursday.
Glacier (5-1 overall, 4-0 in Western AA games) fell behind in the first quarter as Sentinel (3-3, 2-2) after Kaden Thennis found his way into the end zone from 3 yards out to put the Spartans ahead 7-0.
“Credit to coach Oliver and the Spartans, we know he is going to come out with wrinkles and they did,” Glacier coach Grady Bennett said. “That was the game we needed, to get pushed hard like that to go into halftime and have to make some adjustments.”
Thennis’ score was the first touchdown allowed by Glacier since the quarterfinals in 2025 when Bozeman scored, that game finished 42-7.
The Wolfpack responded quickly as Trey Ramey capped off a drive with a 1-yard score to tie the game at seven.
After a Sentinel 3-and-out, Eli Imperato put Glacier ahead for good with a 50-yard scamper into the end zone, making it 14-7. Imperato finished the day with 100 yards on the ground on seven carries.
Sentinel put together a drive late in the half that ended in a field goal, cutting the deficit to 14-10 at the break.
“We didn’t tackle well in the first half. But we did better in the second half and offensively we dominated in the second half,” Bennett said.
Dominated is right.
Cash Keim connected with Hunter Daniels from 14 yards out to cap off a 93-yard drive with a touchdown and extend Glacier’s lead.
Imperato made it two scores on the evening later in the third as he scored from 12 yards to make it 28-10.
Ramey added a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns on short runs to finish off the evening for Glacier. Ramey went for 70 yards in the game on 17 rushes with three touchdowns.
“Thunder and lightning,” Bennett said. “Defensively you settle in and try to tackle big Trey Ramey then here comes the flash in Eli. You also got to give our front credit, Sentinel played a different defensive front and we had to figure things out.”
Glacier now returns home for a Friday showdown with Helena on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.
