C-Falls, Whitefish play to pair of ties

COLUMBIA FALLS — Whitefish and Columbia Falls couldn't settle a pair of Cat-Dog soccer matchups Saturday as both the boys and girls played to ties.

The Wildcats rallied back from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game at two.

Meanwhile the Bulldog girls scored late to secure a 1-1 draw with the Wildkats.

Roan Chism and Luca Duffy found the back of the net in the opening seven minutes to help the Bulldogs take a 2-0 lead.

Brady Bell had the response for the Wildcats in the second half as he found the net in the 59th and 66th minutes to tie the game.

Columbia Falls outshot Whitefish 11-8 in the game.

"Our young team didn't bring the right mentality to the first half, we gifted Whitefish two goals early in the game and to be honest, I thought it was possibly going to be a blowout," Wildcats coach O'Brien Byrd said. "We survived to make it to halftime, and then we came back out with the right intensity and energy levels worthy of our tradition."
