Stillwater Christian’s soccer and volleyball teams put together a strong stretch over the past two weeks.
The Cougars soccer team won four straight, besting Foothills Community Christian 4-1, Helena Christian 8-0, Petra Academy 3-0 and Heritage Christian 4-2. Parker Stalowy scored six goals in the four matches, while Tobin Strobel added three goals and eight assists.
Stillwater’s volleyball team found plenty of success as well, winning five of six matches.
The biggest win came against Heritage Christian, where the Cougars dropped the first two sets before storming back for a win.
“The girls truly demonstrated what it means to play fearlessly,” coach Candice Stephens said. “They kept pushing and fighting.”
Raina Pond led the comeback with 18 kills, while Abigail Danielson finished with 47 assists and Finley Dean added 15 kills and four blocks.
A day earlier, Pond had an even bigger night, piling up 24 kills and eight aces in a five-set win over Petra Academy. Danielson added 50 assists in the victory.
The lone setback came against Eureka in five sets, but Stillwater answered right back with consecutive wins over Petra and Heritage to close the stretch.
