Police: Two Cd'A residents dead in apparent murder-suicide

A couple died in an "apparent murder-suicide" that occurred over the weekend on E. Vintage Court in Coeur d'Alene, according to the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.

Police responded around 2 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of E. Vintage Court to assist after a concerned family member forced entry into the residence and discovered a dead woman, identified by police as Allyson Duran. 

Medical personnel found a second deceased person in the residence, identified by police as Joshua Sneed. 

"Based on evidence collected during the investigation, detectives believe Sneed was killed inside the residence before Duran died by suicide," a news release said. 

Duran and Sneed had been dating for about a year and resided together. The full circumstances of the deaths are not yet known. 

The investigation is ongoing. 

Police say there is no known threat to the public.

OTHELLO — State Route 26 is closed due to a fatality collision between a car and a semitruck near South Booker Road about four miles east of Othello, according to information from the Washington State Patrol and the Washington Department of Transportation. The road was closed about 6:30 a.m., according to the WSDOT. This is a developing story and more information will be added as it becomes available.
