April 8, 1934 — Sept. 28, 2026

With peace in her heart, Eunice Arlene Gillam, 92, of Lewiston, Idaho, went to be with Jesus and her loved ones Sept. 28, 2026. She was born April 8, 1934, on the family farm outside Carthage, S.D., to Seth and Hope Hall.

Eunice was a strong, hardworking, and capable woman whose faith was woven into everything she did. Raised in South Dakota alongside three brothers and two sisters, she graduated from Carthage High School in 1952. She raised four daughters as a devoted and thrifty single mother for six years before marrying the love of her life, Delbert Gillam, in 1971. Together, they built a life centered around family, farming, local community, and traveling the scenic backroads of the Pacific Northwest.

A devout member of the Lutheran church, Eunice lived a life of active service. She shared her talents through the Fireman’s Auxiliary, the Birthday Club, the Hospice Thrift Store, and the Dorcas Quilters. She was deeply proud of her Swedish heritage and cherished time spent with her vast family, rarely missing a family reunion or a grandchild's event.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Gillam; daughter Kathryn Mae Davids; great-grandson Zachariah Bridwell; granddaughter Sarah Arlene Robbins; and siblings Ernest Hall, George Hall, Gladys Button, Seth Hall Jr., and Ardyce Nylund.

She leaves behind a lasting legacy through her children, Marvie Robbins (Gary), Jolene Pooley (Randy), Kathryn Davids (Trace), and Angie Derting (Jay); 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Eunice’s life will be held Oct. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 8134 N. Meyer Road, Post Falls, ID.
