He graduated from Wallace High School, Seattle University, and the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Brooke General Hospital and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Letterman General Hospital. He served in the United States Army for 11 years, including six years in Germany.
Dick started his private medical practice in Albuquerque, N.M., and later moved it to Napa, Calif. He served as Chief of Staff at Queen of the Valley Hospital and was also Head of OB-GYN. Over the course of his career, he delivered more than 4,500 babies.
He loved tennis, skiing, travel (having visited 43 countries), opera, duplicate bridge, and his many German Shepherd dogs. He was a news hound and enjoyed watching football and basketball, and he was captain of his Wallace High School basketball team.
Most important to Dick was his family. He is sorely missed by his wife and lifelong companion, Anne Crocker Morrow Ghiglieri, Ph.D., and their dearly beloved daughters: Patrice Kramm (Morgan), Elise Morrow, Alice Crocker Ghiglieri, and Joan Ghiglieri Schildgen (Scott).

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Mia, Eli, Alexis, Maximus, Henri, Violette, Noelie, Isaiah, and Gabriel. He was very close to his in-laws, Dr. John Morrow, Michael Morrow, and Mary Patricia Chellson.
Services for Dick were held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. A reception followed at The Lodge at Lake Barrington Shores.
