SILVERTON — Senior linebacker Reece Williams had a 60-yard fumble return for a touchdown for the Miners in a nonleague win over the Mustangs at Sather Field. 

Junior quarterback Cooper Miller ran for two touchdowns and threw another to Williams for Wallace, which shut out Deary in the second half. 

Senior Hank Larson also ran for a touchdown for Wallace, which hosts Clark Fork next Friday.

RATHDRUM — Freshman Adelyn Horsley scored two goals and senior Aspen Liddiard had a goal and two assists for the Hawks in a win over the Wildcats at Sunrise Rotary Field. 

“We have been working on some new strategies on the field and the girls executed tonight,” Lakeland coach Allison Guy said. “They have really been putting everything together that we’ve been working on all season, and it’s nice to see. Adelyn has been working hard all season, so it was great to see that hard work pay off with a couple of nice goals tonight.”

KELLOGG — Senior Paige Yrjana had 12 kills, 13 digs and two aces for the Kellogg Wildcats in a 25-23, 25-21, 25-18 win over the Sandpoint Bulldogs at Andrews Gymnasium on Wednesday. 

Sophomore Gretah Angle and sophomore Laine Smith had nine kills each for Kellogg. 

“We had high energy on the court all night,” Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said. “Everyone contributed tonight and our serving really helped us out, missing one all night.” 

Junior Ella Yrjana had 29 assists, junior Hadley Bush eight blocks, senior Jordyn Stutzke 15 digs and freshman Valynn Visintainer five blocks for Kellogg.

KELLOGG — Senior Paige Yrjana had nine kills and seven digs for the Wildcats in a 25-11, 25-10, 25-19 Central Idaho League win over the Maniacs at Andrews Gymnasium. 

“We are continuing to improve on our tempo of the game and using a variety of offensive threats,” 

Kellogg coach Hollie Yrjana said. 

Senior Jordyn Stutzke had eight digs, junior Ella Yrjana had five kills, six aces and 23 assists, sophomore Gretah Angle five kills and four aces, junior Bella Schillereff seven digs, junior Hadley Bush six blocks and freshman Valynn Visintainer four blocks for Kellogg.

WALLACE — The Miners swept the Knights 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 to clinch the Scenic Idaho Conference title at Kirby Krulitz Court.

Wallace claims consolation title at Pea and Lentil Spikeoff 

GENESEE — After going 1-2 in pool, Wallace bounced back to win the consolation championship at the Pea and Lentil Spikeoff at Genesee High, beating the host Bulldogs 25-23, 25-22 in the consolation final. 

Wallace fell to Salmon River 26-24, 25-17, then Prairie 25-9, 25-14 before beating Genesee 25-15, 20-25, 16-14 to conclude pool play. 

In its first consolation match, Wallace defeated St. John-Endicott 25-12, 25-19.

ST. IGNATIUS – The host Bulldogs fell to the visiting Tigers.

THOMPSON FALLS, Mont. — The Wildcats dropped to 0-6 on the season with a loss to the Blue Hawks at Thompson Falls High. 

The Wildcat offense showed signs of life but went 0 for three in red zone opportunities.  

Kellogg returns to Central Idaho League play at Priest River next Friday. 


MULLAN VOLLEYBALL

Clark Fork 3, Mullan 0  

MULLAN — Behind 10 kills from freshman Grace Thompson, the Clark Fork Wampus Cats swept North Star League foe, the Mullan Tigers, 25-16, 25-9, 25-16, extending their unbeaten streak to 12-0 on Tuesday.  

Behind Thompson's stellar day, Clark Fork got six kills, six aces and seven digs from sophomore Vanessa Rogier. Fellow sophomore Kiylah Anderson added five aces, in addition to 16 assists and three kills.   

"I have a lot of respect for Mullan and the toughness that coach Dawn McKinnon instills in her girls," Clark Fork head coach Lydnsie Kiebert-Carey said. "They threw some new things at us that forced us to adjust. Our team stayed focused and aggressive from the service line, which helped us secure the sweep."
