Jermyn, Greer trade cross country wins

Trading places with teammate Cord Greer, who won the Thompson Falls Invitational the week before, defending State B cross country champion John Owen Jermyn won first place in the Whitefish Invitational Sept. 29.
Swapping out with Greer, who sat out in Whitefish after Jermyn sat out in Thompson Falls, John Owen won first place in Whitefish with a time of 16:06.4.
Also running for the Horsemen in Whitefish, Jack Cockrell timed out in 19:56.8, Finnian Ercanbrack in 20:44.1, Bryan Lakko in 21:09.2 and Tyler Barton in 21:17.2.
Running for the Plains High School girls, Emmy Russell clocked 23:34.9 and Kylie Silva 25:48.5.
In the boys middle school race, Louis Jermyn finished in 14:57.0, Mason Marton in 15:03.0 and Kael Meaden 17:11.8.
In the girls middle school event Gracelyn Larson timed out in 15:48.4, Ashlynn Weedeman in 16:44.0, Pearl Ferlen in 18:25.0 and Lianna Loveall in 19:01.2.
Coach Jesse Jermyn and most of his harriers participated in the 11 Miles to Paradise run on the Cutoff Sunday and were unavailable for comment at press time this week.
Plains runners were set to compete in the Arlee Hatch Run Tuesday but will not compete again after that until the Western B divisional meet in Thompson Falls Oct. 15.
