WALLACE — The Priest River Spartans narrowly escaped their trip to Wallace with a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-22, 25-21) in a non-league game on Monday night.

A trio of Spartans contributed to an even scoring spread with junior McKinley Burgess-Duquette and freshman Ava Greisemer totaling a team-high six kills apiece. Senior Raygn Turner added five kills and 14 digs to her night against the Miners.

Greisemer stuffed the stat sheet, leading the Spartans with four blocks and four aces. Junior Loralei Cooper also had four aces while Haylee Jepson-Church totaled 15 assists.

On defense, senior Callie Stanger led the Spartans with 18 digs on the night to help her team get past the 2A Miners.

“Closer than I would have liked, but a win is a win!” Priest River head coach Katlyn Ward said.

Priest River improves to 11-3 overall with the victory and will close out their regular season this weekend. The Spartans will travel to Grangeville on Oct. 9 for their penultimate league game at 7:30 p.m. before ending their regular season in Orofino with another league game on Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.
